Family Eye Care
SEO Case Study for a Local Optometrist
A local optometrist was referred to No Boundaries Marketing Group in mid-2019 by another client. At the time, he had serious goals for growing his family eye care practice and wanted to add two new satellite locations by the end of 2020.
Before expansion could happen, the practice needed a stronger digital foundation. The main office had to become more visible online, more competitive in local search, and better positioned to convert website visitors into new patients.
The client had worked with other SEO providers in the past and did not have a positive experience. Because of that, he was hesitant to make another significant investment without first understanding the strategy, the opportunity, and the reasoning behind the work.
Our first step was to complete a clear assessment of where the practice stood. We reviewed the website, online listings, review profile, backlinks, and local search visibility. We then compared the practice against three of its top competitors to show where the gaps were and how a more complete SEO strategy could support long-term growth.
The Goal:
The primary goal was to help the optometry practice increase online visibility and profitability for the main office before opening additional locations. To do that, the practice needed more than basic SEO updates. It needed a strategy that addressed technical website health, on-page optimization, local SEO, reputation signals, content, and off-site authority.
For a local optometrist, visibility in search results matters because many patients look for eye care services based on location, convenience, trust, and online reputation. If the practice was not appearing for the right searches, potential patients were likely finding competitors first.
Challenge:
Started out with 2 keywords on the first page of Google
Limited online presence
3.9-Star review rating on Google
The biggest challenge was not only improving rankings. The practice needed to build confidence with both search engines and potential patients. That meant improving how the business appeared across the web while also strengthening the experience people had once they landed on the website.
Our Solution:
Our process began with a comprehensive on-site and off-site audit. This helped establish a clear baseline and gave the client a visual understanding of what was holding the practice back.
From there, we reviewed the website from both an SEO and conversion perspective. A website should not only bring in traffic; it should help visitors take the next step. For a family eye care practice, that may include calling the office, requesting an appointment, learning about services, or feeling confident enough to choose the provider.
Next, we completed a series on on-site optimizations to ensure we are giving Google what they are looking for. Lastly, we implement our off-site optimization strategy and content marketing strategy to increase the sites rankings month over month.
