Locksmith Case Study
SEO Case Study for a Local Locksmith
In January of 2020, a local locksmith was referred to us by a mutual client as they needed help increasing their online presence. Over the last 24 months, the locksmith industry as seen tremendous competition with smaller mom and pop companies coming into the picture. Sadly, they ranked well in the Denver, CO market with 8 trucks servicing everywhere from Ft. Collins to the north down to Colorado Springs in the south. Sadly, there presence in Ft. Collins and Colorado Springs dried up as they were not putting any effort really into their online presence.
After a detailed analysis of their website and online presence, we found several opportunities including a poorly optimized Google My Business, Bing Local, and Yelp page, a lack of meaningful content on their website, and virtually no reviews in the last 6 months. Other opportunities included a lack of follow up post sale and a complete disregard for social media.

Online listings were missing or not optimized properly
After our initial on-site and off-site audit was completed, we implemented several on-page and off-page optimizations around their targeted keywords. We updated a series of online listings including their GMB, Bing Local, and Yelp while creating over 30 new listings for their business. We developed and distributed SEO friendly content to build their backlink portfolio and created and distributed a series of short explainer videos for various DIY services. Lastly, we implemented a detailed content strategy that included new blogs every week and added 6 new pages to their website targeting specific keywords/services.
In just 90 days, the website went from ranking on 103 keywords on page 1 of Google to 237, an increase of 130%. At the 6-month mark, July 2020, the client was now ranking on the first page of Google for 337 keywords, which overall has increased his site traffic 151% in a 6-month period.
