Plumbing Contractor Case Study

SEO Case Study for a Local Plumbing Contractor

A plumbing franchisee approach us in April of 2020 for help with their online presence. The client felt that the national organization wasn’t doing enough to support them at a local level, and they wanted supplement their marketing efforts. Upon review of their website and online presence, we noticed that their microsite wasn’t really optimized properly. They lacked unique content, everything was the same for all franchisees, they lacked any type of geo targeting, and they weren’t producing any blogs on a regular basis. After our initial review, they had 10 keywords ranking on the 1st page of Google, they were missing several online listing sources, and they weren’t really doing anything to cultivate their reputation online.

Challenge:

National organization manages the brand requirements and marketing

Poor online rankings

Missing local listings

Lacking unique content

Our Solution:

After meeting with the franchisees national marketing team, we were able to identify some areas of opportunity that they were not currently managing and that needed to be handled at a local level. We were able to establish a new content marketing strategy with the addition of 4 geography focused landing pages and a bi-monthly blog produced by the client. From there, we refined the keyword strategy and worked with the client to provide a series of off-site articles and guest blogs to increase their backlink portfolio. From there, we used our PR for SEO strategy to create several local media features and thought leadership pieces on high domain authority sites creating a boost in trust and authority with Google!

Results

Within the first 30 days, we had already improved their keyword rankings with 3 new keywords on the first page of Google. By August, our strategy was in full force with over 25 keywords ranking on the first page. The client also received features in several online local media sites, 1 newspaper feature, and a local community magazine.
